Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Development Fund has announced a SAR 1.4 billion ($372 million) investment to develop an expansive, all-inclusive resort on Half Moon Beach in the Eastern Province. This landmark project, covering 262,000 square meters, will be managed under the Rixos brand by Accor, a global leader in hospitality, marking it as the first of its kind in the region.

The upcoming resort will feature 400 hotel rooms, 41 private villas, and a diverse range of dining and entertainment options designed to cater to both local and international tourists. The project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s national tourism strategy to diversify the Kingdom’s economy, enhance GDP, and elevate the quality of life in the region.

A strong collaboration between public and private sectors, the project is funded by Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Development Fund and backed by FTG International Group, a foreign investment partner. During a recent meeting in Dammam, Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province, highlighted the project’s significance. Attendees included prominent officials such as Eastern Region Mayor Eng. Fahad Al Jubeir, Eastern Region Development Authority CEO Eng. Omar bin Saleh Al Abdullatif, and FTG International Group Executive Director Fatih Tamince.

The project is expected to boost the regional tourism industry significantly by offering a new destination for leisure and luxury, catering to the growing demand for high-end travel experiences in Saudi Arabia. Mayor Al Jubeir emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in transforming Saudi Arabia’s coastal offerings, viewing this development as a milestone for both the Eastern Province and the Kingdom’s broader tourism ambitions.
