Celine, under the ownership of luxury conglomerate LVMH, has entered the audio arena with a chic pair of headphones priced at a staggering $950. Crafted in collaboration with New York City-based audio company Master & Dynamic, these over-ear headphones made their runway debut during Celine’s Spring/Summer 2024 womenswear show in October 2023, curated under the creative direction of Hedi Slimane.
While these headphones undeniably serve as a fashion statement, they transcend the ordinary audio gear found at mainstream retailers. Celine emphasises the exclusivity of these headphones, available in three colours, each crafted from premium materials such as natural calfskin leather and lightweight anodised aluminium. The ear pads boast the embossed Celine name on one side and the fashion house’s iconic Triomphe logo on the other.
From a technical perspective, these luxurious headphones feature Master & Dynamic’s cutting-edge sound system, coupled with quick pairing technology, a two-microphone talk system with noise reduction for crystal-clear voice calls, and an impressive battery life of up to 30 hours, with 6 hours of listening achievable after just a 15-minute charge.
The Celine and Master & Dynamic collaboration headphones, priced at $950, will be exclusively available through Celine’s website. The colour options include tan leather with silver trim, black leather with silver trim, and an “all-black” variant.
This collaboration marks one of several recent partnerships by the New York City-based audio brand with non-audio luxury counterparts. Celine joins a prestigious list of collaborators, including Japanese streetwear brand A Bathing Ape (BAPE), French hypercar manufacturer Bugatti, Mercedes-Benz, Lamborghini, and German photography giant Leica. With this foray into the world of high-end audio, Celine continues to elevate its brand, merging fashion and technology seamlessly.
