W Sydney, a new addition to the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, has opened its doors in Darling Harbour, Sydney, after a three-year delay due to construction issues and the pandemic. This luxurious five-star hotel features 588 rooms and suites, making it the world’s largest W Hotel. It is positioned between two expressways, offering sweeping views of Darling Harbour and the city skyline.

The hotel’s design is a masterpiece by Hassell Architects, featuring a groundbreaking glass and steel structure known as ‘The Ribbon.’ It also hosts a state-of-the-art IMAX Theatre. The amenities at W Sydney go beyond its luxurious accommodations and include a dual-level rooftop bar and WET Deck, a heated infinity pool, the high-end BTWN restaurant, a spa, and extensive meeting facilities.

With a prime location near Sydney’s International Convention Centre, the hotel provides 1,300 square meters of event space across eight rooms. The fifth-floor Great Room, a 592-square-meter, pillar-free space with floor-to-ceiling windows, offers breathtaking views of Sydney.

W Sydney aims to redefine luxury with its bold, contemporary approach, making it a cultural and social hub in Darling Harbour’s vibrant precinct. The hotel boasts striking architecture designed by Hassell, stunning interiors by Bowler James Brindley, and a haven for foodies with four new dining and bar venues. It also features a spa, fitness centre, and a commitment to excellence in hosting business events.

This addition to the W Hotels brand portfolio in Australia signifies a non-conformist approach to luxury hospitality, combining dynamic design, immersive programming, and an audacious “Whatever/Whenever” service ethos. W Sydney stands as a new standard in modern hospitality, offering fine dining, exceptional design, and plush accommodations.

W Sydney is not just a hotel; it’s a cultural and social pivot in Darling Harbour, redefining luxury and offering a vibrant new scene for both locals and visitors to the city. With its eclectic venues, cool blue rooms, and high-energy programming, W Sydney promises a unique and contemporary hospitality experience.

“From its audacious architectural profile to its non-conformist approach to luxury, it’s evident that the establishment is setting a new standard. A melting pot of fine dining, exceptional design, and plush accommodation, W Sydney is the epitome of modern hospitality redefined,” says the General Manager of W Sydney, Craig Seaward.
