Radisson Hotel Group has made a significant mark in India’s hospitality landscape with the introduction of its luxury lifestyle brand, Radisson Collection, through the debut of Radisson Collection Hotel & Spa, Riverfront Srinagar. This move highlights the group’s strategic expansion into tier 2 and tier 3 cities alongside its presence in tier-1 markets, emphasising a balanced growth approach.

Elie Younes, the Executive Vice President and Global Chief Development Officer at Radisson Hotel Group, expressed the brand’s vision to establish multiple Radisson Collection hotels across India over the next five years. He emphasised India’s economic growth, rising disposable income, and increasing demand for luxury experiences as key drivers behind this strategic move.

The group’s expansion plans include the upcoming launch of Radisson Collection Hotel in Hyderabad by the second quarter of 2026, with aspirations to reach 15 Radisson Collection properties in India within the next 5-7 years. The brand will offer luxury resorts and hotels in top gateway markets, catering to the discerning tastes of Indian consumers.

Radisson Hotel Group, already a prominent player in India’s hospitality sector, boasts a robust portfolio comprising over 165 operational and under-development hotels. Younes highlighted the group’s commitment to India, citing 21 new signings in 2023 alone. Moreover, Radisson’s expansion strategy for 2024 targets both major metropolitan cities and emerging tier 2 and tier 3 towns to capitalise on evolving market demands.

Notably, Radisson maintains a significant presence in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, leveraging its first-mover advantage in these markets. The brand’s upscale segment, led by Radisson, witnessed rapid growth in 2023, with 10 new property signings across various cities, including strategic locations like Raipur, Vrindavan, and Navi Mumbai.

Religious tourism emerges as a pivotal focus area for Radisson, aligning with India’s thriving pilgrimage tourism. The recent announcement of Park Inn by Radisson in Ayodhya underscores the group’s commitment to spiritual destinations, with upcoming properties planned in Ujjain and Vrindavan. This strategic move aims to capture the growing demand for branded accommodations in religious hubs.

Radisson’s entry into the Radisson Collection segment marks a significant milestone for the brand in India, reflecting its unwavering dedication to innovation, sustainability, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. With a strong foothold in tier 1 markets and strategic expansion into tier 2 and tier 3 cities, Radisson Hotel Group continues to shape the future of luxury hospitality in India.
