Maserati has introduced the GranCabrio Folgore, a luxurious electric convertible that represents the brand’s commitment to innovation and electrification. With a starting price of £185,610 in the UK and $203,000 in the USA, this electric marvel showcases a perfect blend of style, luxury, and performance.
The GranCabrio Folgore shares its advanced electric drive technology with the GranTurismo Folgore. It boasts three powerful motors that deliver a system output of 560 kW, with a brief boost option that ramps it up to 610 kW. This impressive powertrain allows the convertible to accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in just 2.8 seconds and achieve a top speed of 290 kph.
Built on an innovative 800-volt platform, the GranCabrio Folgore houses three 300 kW electric motors—two at the rear and one at the front. The advanced torque vectoring system ensures optimal distribution of drive torque among the motors. Moreover, the T-shaped 92.5 kWh battery supports fast charging capabilities up to 270 kW DC, enabling a swift charge from 20 to 80 percent in only 18 minutes. Additionally, it offers an AC charging capacity of 22 kW.
Maserati’s electrification strategy, named Maserati Folgore (‘lightning’ in Italian), is gaining momentum with the introduction of the GranCabrio Folgore. This model follows the successful launches of the GranTurismo Folgore and Grecale Folgore earlier this year. With plans to unveil the MC20 Folgore next year and additional electric models in the pipeline for 2027 and 2028, Maserati is forging ahead in the electric mobility space.
