French beauty titan L’Oréal is welcoming a new era of luxury fragrance, harnessing the power of ‘green science’ and signature ingredients to redefine fragrances.

During its recent event, “The Art & Science of Fragrance” at Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, L’Oréal’s Luxe Division showcased its commitment to innovation in perfume-making. With licencing agreements for prestigious brands like Maison Margiela and YSL, L’Oréal aims to set the benchmark for luxury fragrances.

This strategic move comes as L’Oréal’s Luxe Division emerges as the global leader in luxury beauty sales, boasting a remarkable revenue surge in 2023. Fragrance, in particular, witnessed unprecedented growth, fueled by the allure of exclusive lines such as Lancôme Trésor Fleur de Nuit and Martin Margiela Holiday Limited Edition.

According to Karine Lebret, Global Vice President Scent Science & Fragrance Design of the group, scent has become a potent tool for premiumization, resonating with consumers who prioritise quality and exclusivity in their fragrance choices.

With fragrance manufacturing facilities churning out 100,000 units weekly in Aulnay-Sous-Bois, France, L’Oréal is poised to meet the escalating demand for luxury perfumes, heralding a new chapter in the realm of perfumery.
