French luxury brand Hermes expands its presence in India with the opening of its newest store at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC). Showcasing a wide range of luxury offerings, including silks, home decor, jewellery, watches, and apparel, the new store promises a unique shopping experience for discerning customers.
Designed by the renowned Paris-based architecture and interior design firm RDAI, the 4,800-square-foot retail space seamlessly blends Hermès’ signature elements with nods to Indian culture. The open-plan layout of the store allows customers to explore various sections, starting with silks, home decor, and jewellery featuring bamboo marquetry and deep blue walls adorned with abstract motifs.
Moving towards the rear, visitors will find men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, along with a private salon for a more personalised shopping experience. The store’s façade is adorned with metal cubes transitioning from Hermès’ signature orange to deep Jodphur blue, inspired by the vibrant hues of the festival of Holi.
Highlighting the inaugural windows is an installation titled ‘Faubourg in an Enchanted Forest,’ created by production designer and filmmaker Aradhana Seth. This captivating display combines Hermès’ historic address in Paris with Gond-inspired artworks, adding a touch of whimsy to the luxurious ambiance of the store.
With its meticulous design and curated selection of luxury goods, Hermès’ new store at Mumbai’s BKC is set to redefine the luxury retail landscape in the city, offering an unparalleled shopping experience for fashion connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike.
