Luxury shoe and accessories brand Roger Vivier has proudly announced Xin Zhilei as its latest brand ambassador. The acclaimed Chinese actress will collaborate with the company to highlight and celebrate some of the brand’s most iconic creations.

Xin Zhilei is seen carrying the Viv’ Choc bag and wearing Belle Vivier heels, perfectly capturing the essence of timeless elegance and feminine charm. However, it is her impressive body of cinematic work that has made her the ideal ambassador for Roger Vivier. This appointment aims to deepen and broaden the Maison’s enduring connection with the world of international cinema.

Despite the recent slowdown in the Chinese luxury market, exacerbated by consumers cutting back on spending and Yoox-Net-A-Porter’s decision to exit the country, China remains a crucial market. Chinese consumers, whether at home or travelling globally, continue to be a key focus for many European and American luxury labels. Additionally, the international prominence of Chinese cinema stars extends their influence to a broader audience beyond China’s borders.

Roger Vivier’s selection of Xin Zhilei aligns with the brand’s long history of association with movie stars, such as Marlene Dietrich, Catherine Deneuve, Laura Dern, Isabella Rossellini, Isabelle Huppert, Christina Ricci, and Susan Sarandon.

A graduate of the Central Academy of Drama, Xin Zhilei rose to fame in 2016 with her breakthrough role in “Crosscurrent,” the only Asian entry in the main competition of the 66th Berlin International Film Festival. The Golden Goblet award-winning actress has since starred in numerous box-office hits and critically acclaimed films, including “Brotherhood of Blades,” “Gentlemen,” and “Schemes in Antiques.” Most recently, she portrayed Li Li, the female protagonist, in “Blossoms Shanghai,” the most popular drama of 2024.
