To mark the 50th anniversary of Tignanello, an iconic red wine, Italian luxury carmaker Maserati has crafted a unique Fuoriserie edition of its latest model, the GranCabrio Folgore. This exclusive vehicle, created for Marchesi Antinori, will be auctioned on July 14 at the Festival Napa Valley’s Arts for All Gala in California.

The GranCabrio Folgore represents Maserati’s first 100% electric convertible in the luxury segment. With its advanced 800V battery system, developed using Formula E technology, it promises top-tier performance, comfort, style, and elegance. The vehicle features four true seats and a soft top, along with innovative systems such as a neck warmer and a wind stopper to ensure a comfortable ride even with the top down.

Drawing inspiration from the vineyard, the design of the GranCabrio Folgore pays homage to Tignanello’s heritage. The car’s exterior is painted in Terra di Tignanello, a chestnut colour inspired by the vineyard’s soil, with a coppery burgundy tint reminiscent of Tignanello’s barrels. The rims and callipers are matte and gloss black, respectively, with copper-coloured emblems. The black soft top fabric completes the exterior look.

Inside, the car features leather seats with a multi-material silver and burgundy ribbed weave made of Vegea, a sustainable fabric derived from vineyards, used for the first time in a Maserati car. Dark briar wood with laser-etched details adorns the panels, celebrating the history of Tignanello. The headrest embroidery combines the Maserati Trident with Tignanello’s sun emblem, and the central tunnel is engraved with the years 1971-2021, marking the 50th anniversary of the wine.

Klaus Busse, Maserati Head of Design, said, “This collaboration with Marchesi Antinori epitomises the essence of our Bespoke production, creating tailor-made cars that elevate the driving experience. It is a story of Italian excellence, and we are proud to celebrate it through this unique vehicle.”
