Domaine Alexandre Bonnet

Côte des Bar Wine Innovator of the Year – France 2024

Domaine Alexandre Bonnet is, in many ways, an exception in the Champagne region. Its setting is Les Riceys, a magnificent medieval village at the gateway to Burgundy. Although the heart of Les Riceys, far from the eyes of Reims and Epernay, has long wavered, it is nevertheless, with its 844 hectares of vines, the largest wine-growing commune in the Champagne region. And the only one with 3 AOCs (champagne, coteaux-champenois and rosé-des-riceys). The ancients saw in it the finger of God. The Laignes, the charming river of Les Riceys, is the index finger of the hand formed by the 5 valleys irrigating the Barséquanais. This is the kingdom of Pinot Noir. The story of Alexandre Bonnet began here in 1934. Today, with its own vineyards, this Riceys estate is a major player in the revival of the Côte des Bar, this ‘other Champagne’, authentic, wild and rich in a unique terroir.
